The new development of Ato condominiums is located in Little Tokyo, downtown Los Angeles in the heart of a community undergoing gentrification. The Little Tokyo Historic District was founded by a myriad of cultural groups, particularly the Japanese, hence little Tokyo. 

While the building and interiors are of course new, an effort was made to reference its cultural past. The subtle design cues relate to geometry, sections, and the study planes hint to the craft of origami. The open-air amenities and the use of exterior spaces are utilized in unconventional ways for things like coworking nod to a new era with a focus on wellness. 

This project is anticipated to be complete late 2022.
