Sabine Grimes is an internationally recognized design leader and multidisciplinary innovator. Driven by a curiosity for complex systems, Sabine applies cross-domain logic to decode the hidden rules of physical, spatial, and biological environments to rewrite what’s possible for human experience. With over two decades as an interior architect, Sabine has shaped more than 70 major development projects worldwide. As founder and principal of Unison Group, Sabine leads a multidisciplinary team of designers, architects, strategists, and technical specialists to deliver refined work across branded residential, luxury hospitality, and experiential development environments. With a focus on spatial clarity, material integrity, and human-centered design, and guided by a deep understanding of the development process, Sabine bridges architecture and interior design to consistently elevate the experience of space and the standard of execution.

DESIGN

Through curiosity of colour, form, material, and the many aspects of art, culture, and craft, each design evolves beyond aesthetic expression into its own identity that is exquisitely unique. Our process is anchored in actualizing potential through dialogue with stakeholders, understanding of context, and firm acknowledgment of the project’s aspiration. We believe in the trajectory of our work beyond our immediate involvement and commit fully to all aspects of the design process.

With firm understanding of integrating interiors into architecture, engineering, construction, and real estate, we work respectfully as a partner and ally on the creation of form. From project inception, we apply “design-from-the-inside-out” principles so surrounding context and site constraints do not become a barrier to progress. We curate and guide all aspects of spatial design to unlock extraordinary value for stakeholders and adhere to the integrity of the vision.

Past experience as a client and developer has provided us invaluable insight into the importance of a clearly articulated design vision and where our input can provide the greatest value. Dependent upon scale, scope, and the functional demands of the undertaking, we support ventures in a targeted capacity and execute full design-builds. We leverage long-standing relationships to direct all aspects of procurement, millwork, and fit-out to bring complex projects to fruition.
